WASHINGTON, Sept. 21, 2015 — LCG, a leading provider of innovative grants management and technology solutions to federal agencies based in Rockville, participated as a bronze level sponsor in the 2015 Dulles Day Festival & Plane Pull® this past Saturday at Dulles International Airport. LCG, which had a team of nearly 45 people participate, donated $5,000 as part of the event to Special Olympics Virginia. The plane pull is an annual event sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department and all proceeds provide year-round training and athletic competition through Special Olympics to more than 11,000 athletes of all ages across the state of Virginia.
“LCG employees are incredibly dedicated to serving a wide variety of community causes and we were honored to be a part of this unique event in support of Special Olympic Virginia,” said Trish Schuman, vice president of human resources at LCG. “Our employees had an amazing time and it was especially great that we could extend our participation to our family and friends, to have fun while also doing something uplifting together to support a good cause.”
The Dulles Day Festival & Plane Pull is Special Olympics Virginia’s “heaviest” fundraiser, putting teams of 25 against one another to see who can pull a 164,000-plus pound airplane the fastest. Plane Pull attendees include professionals and their families from throughout the entire Metro area with more than 75 companies participating as teams, sponsors, vendors and volunteers.
